Portugal Wins “Europe´s Leading Destination 2023” At World Travel Awards
Portugal continues to shine on the international tourism stage with an impressive win at the 30th edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA) held in Batumi, Georgia. The country not only secured the coveted title of “Best European Tourist Destination” but also scooped a total of 17 awards across various categories during the event.
Among the noteworthy victories, Porto was recognized as the “Best City Break Destination in Europe,” the Algarve was awarded the title of “Best European Beach Destination,” Lisbon was crowned the “Best European City Destination,” and Madeira was acclaimed as the “Best European Island Destination.”
In addition to the prestigious accolade of “Best European Tourist Destination,” Portugal was honored in multiple categories encompassing accommodations of different types and classes, tourist attractions in various contexts, and its commitment to responsible tourism.
